Greek Week Schedule of Events Announced

Following is a list of Greek Week 2007 events.  Please see the Events Calendar tab above for the week for more information, event details and other relevant information.

Greek Week: Oct 22-28 -         

Monday:

             Bowling at Strikes, tournament style, 9pm, prizes -         

Tuesday:

             Talent Show, email Lyuba by Oct. 10 if your chapter is going to perform,

             7- 9pm -         

Wednesday:

             Tables on Locust Walk, each chapter will set up table with posters,

             pictures, 12-4pm, Letters Day -         

Wednesday night:

             Team Sober meeting, 2 from each chapter -         

Thursday:

             Faculty Tea at the Castle, 5-7pm, email Lyuba with more

             faculty/administration recommendations -         

Friday:

             Powderpuff Football 4-6pm, 40th St. field -         

Saturday:

             All Greek Community Service Event,

             TBA- % required from each chapter -         

Saturday night:

             Block Party -         

Sunday:

             Rena Rowan Ribbon Run -         

Sun night:

             Academic Bowl 5-7pm

Greek Leadership Team Completes Training

Late August saw the return of Chapter Presidents, Chapter House Managers and Governing Council Executives for extensive training and preparation for the beginning of the school year.  Presidents and Governing Councils went on retreat at Camp Sandy Hill in Maryland.  Training included Crisis Management, Goal Setting, Group Dynamics and Leadership Style as well as Governing Council meetings and planning.  Meanwhile, House Managers began final preparations in the houses for opening.  Upon their return Presidents and House Managers also went through training with Counseling and Psychological Services, Alcohol Policy Initiatives, and University of Pennsylvania Police Department.

Once again Greek students continue to impress in academics.  Several fraternities and sororities maintain a GPA’s above their non-Greek peers.  Below is a listing of the top chapters.  More than half of our fraternities and sororities have chapter averages above the all undergraduate grade point average:
