Greek organizations offer friendship, respect, and support to all members. Each chapter's ritual provides ideals and values which will serve as a foundation for your life. Additionally, fraternities and sororities offer leadership opportunities that can challenge and prepare you for whatever your future holds.
If you seek greater leadership opportunities outside of your chapter, you can run for office on the Multicultural Greek Council, the Interfraternity Council or the Panhellenic Council. These councils are the umbrella organizations which govern their respective member chapters. They also coordinate activities, programs, and events for the Greek community as well as the Penn and West Philadelphia communities.
The Greek community provides experiences that create well-rounded students. Being involved in one of these organizations provides you with chances to work with students from different and diverse backgrounds. It provides leadership training, social development and interaction with University alumni/ae and administrators. Greek Life offers members a place to call home, a way to give back to the community, and most importantly, a sense of belonging to the University that you can find nowhere else. Friendship, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Memories and Experiences…. Greek life is where it all can be found.
